Yet another project on the go! USDM B17

- Thu Aug 06, 2009 1:34 am #135916 Ok so I picked up a 1992 Integra GSR. Body is beyond repair, so I decided to part the car out. The previous owner blew the timing belt so I got the car for $260bucks. Come to find out after taking the engine apart there is no damage to the valves or pistons :)

Anyways so now I am in the process of building the B17 and dropping it into another car. Still don't have a car yet! Any suggestion on what Honda I should drop it into?

Going to be picking up some jdm b16 rings, pistons this week to up the compression. Ordered a complete gasket kit. Possibly drop in the stage 1 skunk2 cams, springs and retainers.

As for the cable transmission, everything can be swapped over to a hydrolic case. So that is also the plan.

- Thu Aug 06, 2009 2:25 am #135921 Getting a B17. Damn. That was a good deal, Especally with no real damage to the engine.

I would swap it into either a 92-95 CX Hatch with a USDM 99-00 Civic Si Tranny, or 88-91 Civic Hatch or CRX using the B17 Cable Tranny.

If you want something a little different going with a 88-91 or a 92-95 Civic Sedan will make a much more useful car, People also wont be expecting a Sedan to be fast.

- Sun Aug 16, 2009 7:23 pm #138173 Ok so I came across a EK hatch today, still undecided if I want it or not.
It's a 96 5spd he is asking $1000obo. It needs a hood and some body work around the quarter panels. Floor and rockers look fine, interior is mint just really dirty.

What should I do?! Get the EK or keep looking..
