which head?
Posted: Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:24 amSo recently i bought a 94 vx and i want to know which head i want to put on my D15Z1 i want to know which would be better for a n/a engine a Z6 head or a Y8 head all feed back is greatly apperciated.

That's the only major difference, unless you will also be replacing the intake manifolds. then...
z6 IM:
obd1 = same sensors
slightly better top end flow
y8 im:
99-00 has cold start assist, additional holes to plug vs 96-98
IAT sensor will need to be relocated
must be from a manual y8
injectors will not fit obd1 plugs
slightly better mid rpm flow
the VX IM is pretty small/restrictive, may want to consider upgrading

Posted: Fri Oct 23, 2009 5:09 pmi was thinking more of an after market mani. I was also wondering if any one had any feed back about the d17 pistons and rods? Ive heard they up compression but you need to do a little machinng how much machining is a little? Also which ECU will i need with this swap?
