Well, when the engine shuts off, the oil pump stops pumping and the alternator stops turning and generating power. The oil light comes on because the pump stopped pumping, and the battery light comes on because the alternator stopped generating power.

Without any other info, there's nothing I/we can do to help you.

Do you have a CEL? Are your engine/tranny/battery grounds in good shape? Are they tight? Have you done any modifications recently? Have you done any heavy maintenance lately?

sounds like a typical distributor issue, but read this thread first and run all the necessary test before you purchase anything.

headgasket? I don't believe so, but your best thing to do is search on this forum and read up about headgasket. This way, you will know what to look for.

well wait, before you do that make sure you arent getting spark. If your getting spark then its probably a fuel issue, which is possible also although usually those problems come up after the car has been turned off and then wont start again, its still not worth buying a new dizzy if you dont have too. But for future reference there are endless possibilities as to what happened to your car based on the info you gave us. Your timing belt could have snapped for all we know. But that doesnt mean that i think thats your problem.

the mounting points on thedizzy for a z6 are unique. if you have a d15b7 dzzy open it and take the Module off that and slap in the z6 dizzy if it's identical that should fix the problem.
