hi im a noob at this i was wondering doing a z6 mini me setup w/ a dx tranny. i was wondering will it still be quick? or a z8 swap w/ dx tranny be quicker?...

Definitely get an ex/si tranny if you can. that will make both setups quicker than if they had the dx tranny. :thumb:

do you mean a y8? What kind of block do you have right now?

oops haha didnt see that, i meant z6. i have a b7 right now and i want to put the z6 head and mate it w/ a dx trans. and wondering if it would still be quick. i've heard that z6 engine w/ a dx tall trans would still be quick, just like it had a ex/ si trans. so i wondering if it would still be the same on a z6 mini me.

I did some searching.

Right now your comp. ratio stock is about 9.2:1.

W/a z6 head if I did it correctly on zealautowerks.com will yield 10.22:1 comp. ratio. Idk how all that translates into power so let someone else chime in but I would venture to say a z6 swap would be better but like I said, see what others think I could be totally wrong

read through this pretty well and he says what youll be making. It is much better than the stock b7 though. Im driving on a y8 mini me right now

i personally think a y8 vtec head kick stronger then a z6 head.

if u can get a y8 head it will be little quicker

y8's have a little more power, but its not even really noticeable. also, most of them are newer and less worn on. id like to compare two fresh rebuilt heads.

10:2:1 is it still boost friendly or can I put a b7 HG to lower the comp. And still have the kick of the mini-me? So I can boost it. It would be diff. To a mini-me that's boosted...
