i have a Z6 head and ZC pistons, i was wonderin if i swapped the pistons, head and reflashed the ECU if that would be any good.

As been discoused here before.

D15z block, z1 rods, p29 Pistons(aka dohc zc pistons, d16a1 pistons) Wont Work

The Piston goes .049" Above the Desk.

Play with the D Series compression calc and see what options work. If the Piston to Deck hight number is negitive then it wont work.

well i also got D16Z6 rods layen around somewhere. think those might work?

No, z6 Rods and z1 Rods are the same length 137mm, However D15b7 Rods will work. They are only 134mm. I gave a link to the D Series compression calc that will let you play with different configurations and see what parts will work. Its where I got the answer for you just now.
