Mini swap wont start

Y8 on b7 swap wont start engine cranks fuel is good air is good spark is iffy followed the 1342 from haynes manul but not sure about the distributer order

sounds like ur timing is off u do kno ur supposed to use a adjust cam gear unless ur doing a y7 y8 mini swap right? it will run and run ok without the adjustable gear its gonna b half a tooth off...

the write up said nothing about a adjustable cam gear when using a y8 with a b7 only that d16z6 needs a adjustable cam gear

It will run with the oem timing gear. You're 100% sure the spark plug wires are in the correct order?
All grounds are connected?
How is the compression? with the spark plugs in, turning the crank by hand with a wrench, is it difficult to turn on the compression stroke? (or check with a compression tester if you have one)

it will run and run pretty good but it wont run 100 percent with the adjustable gear, but anyway like teal dx said recheck and ur wiring and grounds etc... ive done a bunch o mini me swaps and you will be surprised the little stupid things u forget to check...

Well i check everything moved some plugs around and it started i gave it a spin around the block and seemed ok i had a CEL tho and no vtec engaged i guess i dident ground it good and the car needs oil also white smoke comming from headers

The CEL is prob VTEC related if it wasnt kicking in. Prob should of cleaned up the headers after manhandling them but before starting the car. The smoke will stop. Just burning off any residual oils.

BACK TO SQUARE ONE :x i started her up today and let idle for a while and i was happy to see no CEL so this time i took her for a drive on the highway and it was okay but when i crossed the bridge to the other side i felt like i really had to push down on the peddle to start moving then ohh mann CEL came on and she really started vibrating as i was going up a hill to cross the bridge to get to my house thermostat needle jumped up and i started to smell burnt oil finally got home and opened the hood there was some white smoke comming from the back of the block like under the intake mani?


what could be wrong now :(

if i dont get this fixed my mom is going to junk my car
