- Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:39 pm #225278 if you are trying to use A1/B1 water pump that on a Stock b20 then NO .. well i suppose you could.. the stock water pump is a vtec water or (GSR/B16) (i think 22teeth?) while the LS is 19teeth or other way around. but everything is yes.

is your A1 motor obd0 or obd1? pretty sure your gonna have to convert your intake mani, dizzy, and what not to the B20 to make it work. i think they're all OBD2. not 100% on that though...

- Wed Dec 01, 2010 4:13 am #225337 well right right now iam using my stock wiring harness from y z6 sohc , but iam using everything but i mostly did everything brand new i only rain the motor atleast 1000 miles with new water pump ,spark plug wires, spark plugs
an d starter .....so iamguessing i can use all the same, right that i just said since its mostly likely the same for everything

- Wed Dec 01, 2010 6:05 am #225348 Not sure about the water pump on the B20. I was under the assumption they were the same as LS's. However I never confirmed this or checked the books/part numbers.

Also all B20's are OBD2, However Easily converted to OBD1 with your OBD1 Injectors, LS Dizzy (or use Teals DIY to build a obd1 dizzy) and your obd1 d series alternator.

I Agree with Juice, I would only put new parts on my engine. I didn't do that when I did my b20 swap and am now paying the price with a Failing waterpump. If you buy new parts it would make since to get a new P72 GSR Waterpump and Timing Belt. Shouldn't cost much more and will give you the peice of mind for when you over rev your engine that your still good.

- Wed Dec 01, 2010 9:27 am #225370 thanks for the info chrono well iam buying the motor from a warehouse that get JDMmotors so it has low miles as they say but they have rare parts in there warehouse like half cut rx7 and etc. but should i just drop the b20 thats with the LS tranny an the rest of the brand new use parts i have on my ls to convert beside the water pump ,....spark plugs and sp wires and starter would go good or no? and your sayin get a OBD2 Dizzy for the b20 ?
