#224636 I've just spoke to a local tuning company about getting my car remapped and then mentioned to him that I have bought and am planning to fit a full Greddy Turbo kit to which he said don't bother their crack and the manifold pushes gases back into the engine.

When I asked what he would recommend he then tried to sell me his own built £3000 ($4500 ish) turbo kit.

So am a bit like is he just trying to sell me his stuff or have I made a mistake by investing in what I though was a good brand.

Please he and put my mind at easy.

#224647 Greddy is an awesome brand in turbos, Right up their with Garett. They make quality products. Their turbo kits are well thought out and they sell the correct sized turbos to get good daily driven performance out of their kits.

I Belive your tuner is trying to push his own product on you. I would personally find anouther shop or tuner. Shops that do shady practices like this shouldn't be supported.

#224653 This is what I've always been told and have thought just wanted someone else to reassure me since this guy was telling all kinds of bs.

Thanks dude will keep you on how my build goes.

UK drivers looks like it's another eason to stay away from cpl

#226432 Greddy is ok if your. Not going crazy for power. Sin e greddy turbos and their set up for oud car limit are up to 10psi. Dependant on ur power goals is what ur tunsr might have looked at. For sure those eg's running the 1/4 doing their 10s and 11s definateky gave the greddy kit the boot. CUstom set ups and diffedsnt parts are what make big numbers. .. so talk with him. 4500 seems a bit high. Well don't know what's included eithee.. great turbos aren't. Cheap. Check out goautoworks.com thsy have a few good kits depensing how much power u want to make.

#226537 My goal I don't think is that high am looking for max hp of 280 with head valve train and bottom end work but want it to be relyable.

I already own the greddy kit and just thought it was a bit harsh for a guy that I have never spoken in an economic climet that we have right now trying to force a sale onto me and tell me that every turbo decision I have made for my car is completly wrong and it's gonna cost me another 4k plus to put it right.

So as Teal and others have said I'm gonna find another tuner, just wanted to check a few of you guys on hear to make sure I'm not just being stubern or stupid

#227559 Now before everyone bashes the tuner, we need to know if it is a log manifold or a regular cast manifold?

Log manifolds DO push exhaust gases back into the engine. When the gases from the two outer runners meet in the middle, they force exhaust gases in the middle two runners back into the engine. Definitely not the best flow. But for 300hp you're fine.

#227613 It's the regular cast manifold so looks like I should be ok thanks for your input, just to bash the tuner one more time he never asked that before he started to sell me a tubula manifold

I don't know where you're getting this information but you're totally wrong. The amount of power you produce from a turbo is based on the exhaust housing size vs the compressor housing size, and the overall A/R of the turbo. As well as the wastegate actuator as set by your wastegate spring or manual boost controller. Greddy kits can be put onto civics to produce as much power as you want them to.

Some people think their shit works better then brand name just because they made it with their own hands. The Greddy kit is absolutely a good way to go.
