#227976 I would NEVER buy an engine off ebay.

Also the b16 you linked is obd0, with a Cable Tranny, meaning it wont be a plug and play conversion like the obd1 ls swap will be.

I have owned a b16 powered car, and at first liked it until I realized how slow it was. Going to a b20 which has much less horsepower made my car much much quicker. I will never own a B16 again.

If I was going to get a B Series swap I would get a b20z or B18b engine, b16 Transmission, 94-01 integra mounts and linkage(unless in sol then replace with delsol vtec) and then an OBD1 computer for the engine your wanting to run.

Buying a complete swap will have a Premium on it and if you get a full ls swap it will be slow. When you put a better Transmission on it is when it comes alive.

I Personally believe the b16, like the K20a3 is almost a Pointless swap. Mainly as for the money swapping it over you wont gain enough power to make it worth it.

If you have a d16z6 before hand the money can buy mods to make the d16z6 faster then the b16. Also for less money you can have a faster setup, Same with the K20a3, for less money you can have a quicker setup. Only point these engines have is you can say, I have a B swap, or a K Swap.

and i didnt want to double quote that. you can pick LS's up for super cheap too an just build them. You could make a badass high comp b18 on a budget. Im doing it! :thumb:

#228692 I voted B18. B16 is a great motor but ever since Fast and Furious came out the price has just been ridiculous. A B18 you don't even have to import, and with some mods you can get as much power as most people will ever get out of their cars.

The problem with a B16 trans is that you're at 3800 RPM just going 70 mph. Most people will drive 75 or 80 usually but once you have that trans, you will find yourself cruising at 65.

Some people might say that you can put an LS 5th in A B16 trans but why not put a B16 2nd and 3rd in an LS trans?

#228748 get a US spec B16 and throw some Type R cams, nice header, and iceman or comptech intake. b16 is my vote. Ls's are nice. but if you just so happen to get an LS that was an Automatic those headbolts will strip out. i dont know how many i see and had that happen to me and those were all from auto cars. i dont know if it was just me or what but yea.

LS's are nice. but B16 with type R cam's runs nicely. IMO either way i like both motors.

#230351 So many different opinions, B16A2 is a great engine, don't have any experience with the B18..

Is the B16A2 an expensive engine in the States, pretty cheap here in Europe.
