my car is accident free and all original body. except for painted hood. hood was taken off for paint. so i think it was installed wrong.


i was wondering if i could loosen it up and line it up?

if anyone has body shop exp let me know

- Thu Feb 09, 2012 5:02 am #294018 Yes, but it's difficult and maybe impossible to get it where you want it. These old cars have flexed quite a bit. Look at the hood hinges. Each side has four 10mm bolts, and if memory serves me right, two of the bolts will have painted sealant on them. The other two bolt holes on each side are elongated and have alignment marks on them. These are the bolts you will want to slightly loosen. Close the hood, reopen it, then tighten them evenly.
