i didn't really think about that...i have the upper strut bar brace so i hope that will make up for it. i took off the bumper support originally because it shorted out on my foglights and had an electrical fire. i sold it so i couldn't really put it back on. i definitely don't wanna hit anything in the front and it only weighed like 10 pounds so not much worth for weight :?

I'm having the same problem and I can't think of anyway to fix it, I was thinking about this but IDK...

#175337 are your foglights having a problem with the bumper support and the housing of the foglight?

if they are you can just take a dremel tool and cut out the part that might be touching and wrap the ends in some foam or electrical tape. i took tin snips to the part of the bracket that protruded out and bent the rest away. it was a pretty big smoke and fire though...had white smoke billowing out of my hood

oh and the horn gets in the way as well.... so it could be arcing off that as well.

I don't have a horn, and IDK if its the bumper support our the housing. All i know is sometimes it just sparks and fuse goes bye bye...

well that's lucky that it pops the fuse...mine actually melting the entire fuse with out blowing it....have no idea how that happened.

but you prolly have to take the bumper off and look for signs where it rubbed and trim them away

I did that, and but some electrical tape on there, but when it rains its still does it, My friend told me to try putting silicone

that's really interesting man, i had no problem after i cut away the parts that were in contact with metal. i don't know if silicone will do it, i would try some thick foam and cut/contour it. let me know how it turns out 8)

#175458 so a week or two ago i got around to installing an air filter but it needed to be extended off under the charge pipe because there is no room to just mount an air filter straight on the turbo inlet... i went to autozone and bought a 3" flexible ducting that extends out and a 3" ID spectre air filter. i wanted a K&N but it's pretty expensive and i think it should be fine for a bit :thumb: i did it because i didnt want to run the risk of sucking something up like sawdust that was falling out of a truck i was behind one time...

while i was in the process i added a bung to my black box on the back of the block:

i followed this diagram to set up a turbo PCV of sorts

still smells like fumes to all shit in the cab when stopped idleing in traffic...

#175461 Cars is looking good. Your turbo setup is getting nicer all the time. you will get it to the point it doesn't smell like dead hookers in the back of your car, it will take time though.

Do you have a cat? My Hatch doesn't have one and once i park it in my garage the exhaust smells bad. I have had it smell bad randomly when parked in traffic as well.

#175463 i had an interesting day yesterday...

so my catch can fell out of it's friction fit as i was running some curvy backroads at high speeds yesterday which cause the tape to melt on my rotor and the can got all fucked up because it was caught in my wheel/suspension and ruined it.... happened at about 2:30pm and nothing really came of it, just pulled over and fixed it

10:30pm..driving 100 miles home and BAM..all of a sudden no electrical power whatsoever (and i was on the freeway in the left lane) so i merge off luckily there was an exit right there...after an hour of me and my gf looking around, my axle ate up my alternator charge wire and was arcing off the block. so needless to say, after 3 block fuses i found it and nursed it back, fired it up and drove home.....

it was pretty scary actually but finally made it home safe

so here is the carnage of the catch can:

here is my fuse block which i had to jimmy rig on the exit ramp i was stuck on:

blew all 3 of these:

i wrapped the catch can in tape and saved it :D

on a side note, my truck leaks and i'm pretty sure it's from the right taillight seal so here is how she sits now, drying overnight

thanks man :) i hope i get to that point, it wouldn't really be a problem to leave it on recirc but i don't have a defroster and it's rainy a lot here so it fogs very quickly.

i don't have a cat... and it does occasionally smell like exhaust but i was thinking that when i cracked my DP all up it might not have sealed all the way :? weird about the no cat....

#175651 if you have a stock cat, try putting that back into your exhaust, it should stop that smell. If you dont. Mangaflow has high flow cats on ebay for around 50 bucks.

it kinda funny cause i went out of my way to not have a cat installed...

well over the last couple of weeks, my girlfriend rolled down the passenger window and it didnt roll back up... took me fuggin 4 days to trace the wiring and figure out that the p/s switch was all haywire... so i took it apart and cleaned it and it works perfect now.
it was a free fix ... took me a long time tho

also i have been trying to find where my trunk is leaking from... i have siliconed a lot of the seal and taillights but still leaks. i think it's from the fenderwells where it kicks up water from the tires but who knows at this point....any suggestions?
