Reading gives you knowledge. If you read you would know why Im doing this to the hood. It doesnt really matter though. Its my car, I will do with it as I please. Its hard to devalue a car that will never be sold to begin with. I have had it for 10 years so far and wont be getting rid of it.

#213404 Drive that in Ohio for a winter and you'll have all the rust you need :P

I know what you're going for but I actually liked it better here:

because it looked more natural like an old hot rod that has had years of weathering.

well I know reading gives you Knowledge but rusting out your car on purpose is stupidity to me!!

you can wright it down whatever way you want!!

getting a car to rust is easy!! the fact your having a hard time with it is odd to me as well!!

ya it is your car and I'm going to say keep up the good work!! cause it will be one less nice car on the road to compete against!!

good luck with your rust techniques..

just strip you paint and bring it up north here where I live In Northern Canada and it won't take long to rust!! In fact there may even be holes in it by the end of winter if you drove it every day putting decent miles on it every day if you ran it bear steel ..

just my opinion.. doing what your doing you had to expect haters lol

#214331 What he was trying to say is that if u read the whole thread from beginning. Then u would know that he is only doing this till he can get it fixed. Its a temp thing...

But if u would like to know it is something alot of people are doing to their cars hoods. I personally like it.. Nice work so far :thumb:

Obviously you don't know how to read. We are only letting the hood rust on this car because it doesn't matter. It's a piece of crap hood that's going to get replaced down the road. We just don't have money to do it right now. When we do, it will get replaced. The entire car will eventually be painted, along with mine. Besides, why not just have a little fun messing with the hood anyway? As for the whole "One less nice car on the road to compete with". Well, once we have money to fix everything on it, it will be a nice car. A nice, fast car. And as for competing..who is competing? What's the point of fixing up a car just to compete with someone else? That's retarded. " Hey Bob, I'm going to fix up my car so that it looks WAY better than yours bwhahaha". <---stupid. It's not a competition, you do it because it's a passion. A passion you share with a whole enormous group of people. End of story.

#214410 nice ride bro...
good effort on the hood but iv seen it done better. your best bet is to run to a local pull apart where u can get hoods for like 25 bucks and keep trying to rust until u get what you want.... ur methods might be off but iv seen a few of my buddies do a really good job on them.

#214468 Actually, I think I will leave the hood the way it is now. I kinda like it. Its growing on me. Just need to add the stencile to it and i can clear it.

#214832 Update not related to the hood.

IT was raing today so I did what I could while staying dry.

I got the bumper cut and ready for the Ducts I've had for a while.
