#216232 Put a gigantic turbo on it.
With nitrous.
And take it to the track.

Be prepared to call a tow truck

#216233 I've never personally heard of anyone mod this engine.

#216234 Yeah I apologize that wasnt much help.

I have never seen parts for this nor have I seen anyone mod these.
You can do whatever you want its your car and your motor

I suggest buying a new motor that would be easier and more realistic to mod
Or build a motor...

#216237 do you know the actual engine code? i've got a d13b2 curious whether you have the same

#216262 not sure on the engine code? as im a noob any one tell me where i will find this?

im considering concentrating on body and everything else while saving for another engine.

think i might keep it d or go for a b... ill see how much money i can save lol.

cheers guys.

#216345 You can squeeze a bit of power out of it

Like, headers, intake, fuel rail, injectors. Internally? I think some parts like pistons and rods from 1.5, 1.6 might work, but but you would have to do a bit more research. Good engine for fuel economy. Apparently those engines rev pretty high

#216874 yah once you find the engine code you can start looking for better parts that are compatible with your motor, i have the d15z1, and i know the d17 crank will fit and d16 pistons as well, along with any d series intake manifold and throttle body.

if you want a little bit more power go with a bigger intake mani and throttle body, you best bet would be to just pull one off the local junk yard, a d16y8 will have the biggest one. also you can try to make more flow in the exhaust, like headers higher flow muffler, that kind of stuff, but it would probably be cheaper to just get a new motor, a d15b vtec is a good choice, that's what im getting. im pikking up mine for about $500 if you do some research you can prob find one fer cheap too.

good luck.

#216890 Swap in a CBR1000RR motor ... done. :D

On a more serious note, that is either going to take a lot of diligent research into parts (possibly from motorcycles or other car) that will fit, or some serious cash for a custom forged rotating assembly ... or both (probably both).

the D13C makes more torque than a B18C spec R motor at about 180ft-lbs in the D to around 127ft-lbs in the B.

Can haz??? I wants torque.

I call bs on that.

no 1.3liter d will have that with out any power adders.
Heck no 1.6liter d series will make that with out power adders.

If you bore out a z6 to 78mm and stroke it out the crank from a d17 you can get that type of torque. however, no 1.3liter D Series will produce that torque under natural aspiration.

Maybe it's a diesel ... diesels makes shit tons of torque, compared to equal displacement gasoline engines.

Or it could have a long stroke small bore setup ... which makes more torque ... or a short stroke long rod setup ... which also makes more torque. Just because it doesn't make sense doesn't mean it's not possible.

No one thought it was possible to run 10s with a d15 all motor either ... but it's been done.

EDIT: Did a little research ... the wikipedia article (the only place it says 180 ft/lbs) is full of shit. The honda city d13c specs out at 11.6 Kg/m (113.7 Nm) of torque ... which converts to ~83 ft/lbs. Sorry everyone ... torque and honda still don't go together.

Someone did a conversion wrong or something.

EDIT Again: Updated wikipedia's faulty information ... wheee editing wikipeida is fun. Confirmed everything with several websites.
