the D13C makes more torque than a B18C spec R motor at about 180ft-lbs in the D to around 127ft-lbs in the B.
I call bs on that.
no 1.3liter d will have that with out any power adders.
Heck no 1.6liter d series will make that with out power adders.
If you bore out a z6 to 78mm and stroke it out the crank from a d17 you can get that type of torque. however, no 1.3liter D Series will produce that torque under natural aspiration.
Maybe it's a diesel ... diesels makes shit tons of torque, compared to equal displacement gasoline engines.
Or it could have a long stroke small bore setup ... which makes more torque ... or a short stroke long rod setup ... which also makes more torque. Just because it doesn't make sense doesn't mean it's not possible.
No one thought it was possible to run 10s with a d15 all motor either ... but it's been done.
EDIT: Did a little research ... the wikipedia article (the only place it says 180 ft/lbs) is full of shit. The honda city d13c specs out at 11.6 Kg/m (113.7 Nm) of torque ... which converts to ~83 ft/lbs. Sorry everyone ... torque and honda still don't go together.
Someone did a conversion wrong or something.
EDIT Again: Updated wikipedia's faulty information ... wheee editing wikipeida is fun. Confirmed everything with several websites.
Straight lines are for sissies.
