- Sat Jul 16, 2011 5:57 am #263742 So my car will start up fine some time and other times its like its not getting any gas at all. I need to knew what the problem is.

After the car starts up it runs a drives fine.

Things I have done to the car to try to fix it:

new fuel pump, new fuel filter

checked timing

checked all the plugs and wires

checked the ecu plugs

I need to fix this asap.

- Mon Jul 18, 2011 6:10 pm #264047 Pull out ur main relay under dash...the soldered points are probably cracked. It will have difficulty starting in HOT weather especially. You can fix it by heating up the solder to the point it melts again or add new solder to the points inside the relay. 90% chance it will fix ur problem.

- Mon Jul 18, 2011 6:50 pm #264052 You think its fuel but i'd suggest u rule it out. Next time its acting up pull the #1 spark plug and check for spark. ground the threads while someone cranks the motor if you dont see a spark try swapping out dizzys with someone if that fixes the issue try to find out what went wrong with yours by tearing it down usually its the coil or internal wires. If u do see spark pull your backseat and listen for the whiirrrr when u click the keys enough for the dash lights to come on but not starting the car. should last about 3 seconds and stop this means you are most likely getting fuel.

- Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:22 pm #264061 +1 for main relay. It's an easy fix if you have a solder gun. A new relay is about $60 from the dealership.

A good way to tell is to listen for the fuel pump priming. If you don't hear the whine, then pull out the main relay and inspect those solders.

- Sun Jul 24, 2011 11:41 pm #264844 Yeah it was 3 diffent thing. Main relay was very bad, the return fuel line had a leak in it. and when I installed the fuel pump I put the screen on upsidedown. lol It all good now tho.
