#293721 hi can anybody tell me if the bracket on a civic eg's handbrake cable comes off ? because i need to thread the cable through the hole on the suspension arm ? tried everything to get it off but just cant

#293753 im guessing you mean the clip that is attatched to the ebrake handle that is held on by a 12mm? you take the 12mm all the way off and theres two 12mm near where the ebrake cable comes through the center and out then you should have enough play to rotate the cable to the side and unhookits kinda like the throttle body cable theres a slip way for the cable to pop through and for you to take it out

#293846 just like removing a bike brake cable from the handle loosen it and turn it to the side and pull up.

#293880 thanks but i dont think its that lol its like a caliper bracket attached to the ebrake cable , without that off it cant come through the suspension arm hole on the side

#293884 oh lol, theres a clip on the side facing the rear, but the cables like to get corroded pretty good at that spot and tend to freeze inside the bracket. try some pb blaster. If all else fails use heat and a hammer.

#293887 if your replacing the cables any ways, cut the cable on either side of the brackets. remove the brackets from the caliper then lock them down in a vice. Use a torch to heat them up pretty good and pound whats left of the old cable out. Or you can just order new brackets from honda.
