#296828 im new to the honda world, but not in the car world.

my seat belt tension is weak. i plan to go to the junk to get a replacement. question is what years and models are compatible with my car.

my car:
1995 honda civic
4 door sedan
driver and passenger front seat belts

compatibility in question:
92-95 2 dr coupe
92-95 3 dr hatch
96+

is there somewhere i can buy these new? or is there a place i can send them in to get re-tension and cleaned?

thanks.

#296893 pretty much any 92-95 civic/ 94-01 integra will work and can find the right color for it.

96+ will probably work too. but any 92-95 civic will work.

I can tell you for a fact that a coupe and hatch back seat belts will not fit in a 4 door since they have sliders instead of the fixed mount like the 2/3dr. same does for the 2dr teg now the 4dr teg will swap over. to another 4 door. Just tried this last weekend with my coupe seat belts and bk_coupe 4 dr

#296935 thanks for the info.

im replacing the driver and passenger seat belts since they are used the most and have almost no tension left in them.

they are adjustable sliders. so ill keep my eye out for any '90s model civic with front slider seat belts.

#297060 Seat belts that are faulty/worn/etc. are a FREE warranty repair/replacement at Honda for the life of the car. USA only.

good call on that one. but i looked further into it and the seat belts have to be worn enough for the dealership to replace them.

my belts, the sliders still work and the tension lock still works. the drivers side probably retracts at 60% power compared to new and the passenger at 50%.

has anybody brought their car in like this and the dealership agreed to replace them?

*NVM found my answer:
What to expect when getting seatbelt retractor replaced:

- Setting up an appointment for the retractor to be looked at
- If belt is frayed or torn that is not covered
- They will simply grab your stomach belt tug on it and see how fast or slow it retracts then they will do the same thing for the shoulder belt and possibly when door open a tug down to the ground and see if it retracts. If it past these 3 tests then expect them not to replace it
- About a 1-2 day wait if they don't have the seatbelt/retractor in stock the nearest Region Warehouse will carry it so not too far away
- 1-2 hour wait for install
- They will need your old seatbelt obviously honda must have it in order to get there money back. Goes back to Regional Warehouse and is obviously recorded down on your cars history.

I just got Honda to look at my seat belts. My front ones are not as bad as you make yours sound and my rears do not retract at all. They had to contact Corp. and they agreed to replace all of my seat belts. Two of the three guys looking at them pissed me off though. They were making fun of my car to my face just because its a project car and i had replaced my seats. I told them off real quick.
