#65995 Well... its still not done yet, but its getting there. slowly.

I haven't been on the site as much as i would like to be, i seem to be working a lot of the time for other people either drywall finishing (crack filling) or painting, for some extra cash to go to the civic.

So i would like to thank all the mods and admins for picking up my slack, not that i did a whole lot! :thumb:

Well might as well start with the power, had a stock d16z6 that i turboed last year. it was alot of fun untill i started loosing compression, so i took that motor out and installed my DOHC ZC. I was just going to rebuild the z6 stock again and just drive it, but once i really got looking into the z6 it was fucked. Not one ring land wasn;t cracked so there was my compression loss, cylinder walls were sorta scratched.

So i decided to rebuild,

D16Z6
-75.5mm vitaras
-Tuner toys H-beam rods
-polished crank
-golded eagle block guard
-cometic HG
-ARP head studs
-valve job
-AEM Cam gear.
-all new gaskets, seals, and oil pump.

Also decided to sell most of my turbo stuff and upgrade.

-SLS Ramhorn manidold
-38mm Tial WG
-Garrett T3/T4 57 trim 63a/r
-Stealthmode oil line kit
-Tuner Toys DIY 2.5" Charge pipe kit
-Ebay inntercooler (31x11x2.75)
-RFL BOV
-AEM 3.5bar map sensor
-B18 throttle body (pending)
-RC 750cc injectors

The machine shop did most of the work, i just disassembled it, notched the block and spent the money.

Here are a few pics of the block notching:

Also cleaned up the intake mani. It tore it all apart, then used paint stripper and a pressure washer and got as much paint off as i could. Then i sanded it to get rid of existing old paint and to give the new paint something to adhere to. I don't have pics of the whole process but you get the idea.

#66513 Well here is another update, got my new 1/4 pannel in and started to put some filler to it. This time around i'm not using any mono foam haha all tho it does work well, its just lame. So i welded in a few patches instead.

Please excuse the horrible welds... its not me its the welders fault. flux core, too heavy a guage, and you cant go lower because the welder wont feed it. (Cheap welder)

#66584 Thnaks man! I hope it will turn out the way i want it!

So, it seems like i always do things twice... i do it one way then i think of a better way and i change it! Maybe thats why my car is taking so long haha! naa...

Anyway, i mounted my brake proportioning valve on the inside of the fire wall using self tapping screws,

but some of you know that these self tapping screws on thin metal dont work very well. So i decided to Weld a nut in the firewall, and that way i am able to use a bolt to fasten it and it can be easily removed if needed.

I choose a nut with a shoulder on it, then drilled a hole the same size as the nut, so the nut goes in the hole and the shoulder is against the firewall, then tack welded it in place.
