front bumper bolt on?

- Wed Dec 24, 2008 5:38 am #85247 the winter wisconsin roads took a toll on me already. i smoked a stop sign pulling into my bank that neglected to plow their parking lot. it was either the sign or one of two parked cars. anyways i totally screwed my bumper up, the foam behind it is untouched, and was thinkin about buying another bumper on e-bay and painting it myself. i just wanted to make sure that the stock one is bolt on before anything else. i suppose i might as well also ask if the bumper reinforcement is bolt on incase i get in there and its screwed up.

- Wed Dec 24, 2008 6:06 am #85249 not realy sure what your asking but yea bumper pops off easily and so dose the bumper brace itself foam is nothing more than an insert and if anything id get a used one and just sand and paint that.

- Wed Dec 24, 2008 6:16 am #85250 Well, u did answer my question. But to clarify, I was asking if there is any welding or special tools and so on that I would need. I have a decent tool collection and have fully taken apart and reassembled multiple honda interiors, so I know their unique way of getting things to fit together. However I have done minimal exterior work... I usually leave that to the proffesionals.

- Wed Dec 24, 2008 6:59 am #85253 Yep, front bumper is just bolt on. If I remember it right there are a total of 9 screws/bolts to take out.

1 on each side of the fender (2) phillips screw
2 on the bottom part of the bumper (2) 10mm bolt
5 on top just below the hood (5) big phillips screw

- Wed Dec 24, 2008 2:06 pm #85257 I highly doubt you damaged the core support. You would need to have a good amount of speed and smash into a solid object. I'd just plan on replacing the bumper cover. :thumb:
